Farmer Producer Company Registration

The concept of Producer Company was introduced by the government for the betterment of the farmers. The main purpose of the Producer company is to improve the agricultural productivity and profitability of farmers.

The Producer Company registration process is similar to the process of Private Limited Company registration. The first step in Producer Company registration is to obtain DSC (Digital Signature Certificate) for all the proposed directors. Once DSC is obtained the next step is to file name approval application with the registrar of companies. After the name is approved the next step is to file incorporation application in prescribed format along with the prescribed fees and necessary documents. Further, the name of the Producer Company will end with the words “Producer Limited Company”. In the Producer Company, there is no limit on the maximum number of members.

Basic requirements of Producer Company Registration

  •      10 or more individuals (each of them being a producer) or
  •      2 or more producer institutions; or
  •      Combination of the above mentioned two
Producer Company has to primary deal with the produce of its members. We can say that the Producer Company is a hybrid between a private limited company and a cooperative society. In the Producer Company, there is a combination of the integrity of a cooperative society and the dynamic quality and productivity of a company. The framework of a Producer Company Registration is regulated by the Ministry of Corporate affairs, unlike private limited company.
